As you may know, the section of South Avenue located between Fourth Street and Third Street can become quite congested, especially during the morning school drop-off and afternoon school pick-up times. In an effort to improve safety and traffic congestion, a section of South Avenue near the School District of Lomira Elementary will become a one-way street and have improved traffic flow and parking. This change will take effect January 2, 2024. Please refer to the District's and Village's Facebook posts for a couple of maps.
The section of South Avenue between Fourth Street and Third Street will become one-way traffic and parking. Traffic will be permitted to flow from west to east. Parking will be permitted on South Avenue, facing east. The south side of South Avenue in front of the school will be dedicated as a loading/unloading zone during school hours. We feel this will best serve pedestrian safety, drop-off and pick-up access, and organized parking.
