THERESA ELEMENTARY AWARDED AS A 2022 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL

Theresa, WI - The School District of Lomira is delighted to announce that Theresa Elementary School was recognized today as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona. Theresa Elementary School  is one of eight Wisconsin schools nationally recognized with this prestigious award that honors public and private elementary, middle, and high schools that close achievement and opportunity gaps and where students achieve high learning metrics.

Thanks to our outstanding staff, administration, and parental support, Theresa Elementary School functions as a community of learners with a real passion for growth and academic excellence.

Mrs. Sandra Shaefer, Elementary Principal, remarks, “We are honored to accept this award. Our elementary staff works collaboratively to build a positive school culture in both our elementary buildings. Due to this culture, the students come to school with a sense of belonging because of the strong relationships established within the school community. Learning goes beyond academics. It encompasses being kind to one another even in difficult situations, asking for help when you can’t solve a problem, and being the best you can be every single day. The growth in students realized by this vision is what makes Theresa Elementary School such a special place to learn.

According to District Administrator Mr. Ty Breitlow, “I am so proud of our entire staff, all our students and families, and everyone at Theresa Elementary School. The collective elementary staff have all made a conscious effort and priority to focus on what matters most, meeting the needs of the whole child. When students feel safe, have trust in and with us, and know that there are teachers and staff who genuinely care for and love them, they are able to challenge themselves and grow academically, socially and emotionally. We’re so glad that the federal government has recognized the hard work of the elementary staff, administration, and what this school-community has known all along!”

A celebration event of the award is planned for Friday, October 7, 2022 at 10AM at Theresa Elementary School followed by a reception.
