Congratulations to our 6-12 Principal Deb Janke, who was named a Herb Kohl Educational Foundation Principal Leader. Congratulations Deb! The purpose of the Herb Kohl Principal Leadership program is to recognize and support administrative leadership. The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation's goal is to support Wisconsin school principals in pursuit of their unrealized goals for their schools or professional development. A maximum of 13 Wisconsin public school principals and four private school principals/administrators are selected for a Leadership Award. The Kohl Leadership Award recipients and the schools of those principals each receive $6,000 grants from the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation.

This morning, one of our buses (teal bus) slid into the ditch early in their route. With the support of additional school staff, students were supervised until another bus was brought to the scene and the students were transported to school safely by their regular route driver. When the students arrived at school, Nurse Chelsea checked each of the students involved and calls were placed home to notify parents of the students directly involved in the accident. There are no apparent injuries to any students or the bus driver. Student safety continues to be a top priority of the School District of Lomira. We appreciate the cooperation of the students, the understanding of families, the additional staff support, and responding Fond du Lac County Law Enforcement in their efforts to ensure the safety of all of our students.

Information on the Middle School Play: The Ill Quill Written and directed by Nick Brettingen (better known as Mr. B @ TLC) Synopsis: The literary characters at Well Read Academy are becoming ill. “All’s Well when the Ink’s Well” is the school motto, but somebody has poisoned the inkwell—the very life force allowing the literary characters to exist. The characters must find out who poisoned the inkwell with the “Ill Quill” before they are nothing but inkblots, and the poisoned ink puts them into a permanent, deep sleep. Or worse…blots them out entirely! Show times: Friday, February 2 @ 7:00pm Saturday, February 3 @ 7:00pm Sunday, February 4 @ 1:00pm Lomira Elementary Gym Tickets available at the door: $5 (checks made out to Lomira School District)
